These four childhood friends find themselves beseeched by the Goddess of Wisdom, Nissava the Manapath, to find the cause of Elemental unrest in the Metai Forest.
Lorna, the street-smart orphan is always ready for a new adventure. And if that can’t be found, she’s sure to find trouble of some sort; much to the dismay of her best friend, Kasric (or as she likes to call him, Kaz).
Kaz, the strategist, is the voice of caution in the group. He’s strong, but why use brute force when you can come up with an easier, less… painful plan.
Baum’s the gentle giant; he’s strong and tough, but his kindness has him more focused on the good health of his friends. Alys, well educated by the Kingdom’s finest Mysticks, is the oldest and wisest, but a cloud of mystery even her closest friends can’t get past looms around her.
In the world of Dungeon Stomper, everything, every character, every creature, every item, every skill and even the maps have an Elemental Aspect associated with them. The Elements interact with each other in various ways. Most importantly to adventurers, though, is how the Elements interact in combat. Every Element has a strength and a weakness.
Use Fire Skills against Air creatures to deal double damage. However, against a Water aspected creature Fire Skills will deal half damage. This is true for the equipment you are wearing as well, so make sure to outfit yourself with the proper Elementally aligned armor when entering a Dungeon, where the creatures are much more powerful, to negate some of the damage incurred.
Dungeon Stomper’s unique real time combat system puts you in control of all 4 playable characters at all times. Even better, hand a second, third or even fourth controller to a friend and play together!
Combat in Dungeon Stomper is designed to be a bit slower-paced, encouraging carefully planned actions to best take and keep control of the situation. When your turn is up make sure you are committing to the right skill for the moment, and then make sure to execute the skill with properly timed button presses and releases for an extra boost to the skill’s potency.
Issue commands to party members you aren’t controlling with an easy-to-use intuitive interface. Dungeon Stomper’s Technique system also allows you to set up each character's skills beforehand enabling automatic use in combat. Or you can simply switch who you are controlling seamlessly at any time!
Characters level by defeating creatures, completing quests and by other means. Each level grants a character a stat point to place how they see fit. Customize each character to build a party that complements each other's strengths and weaknesses.
Along with Character experience, you’ll also earn Job Experience.
Dungeon Stomper’s defining feature: The Job system. When you begin the game, pick one of six Jobs for each character. Each Job belongs to one of the three main party roles, Attacker, Defender and Supporter.
There are no limits to Job Selection so you can mix and match the party composition however you like. A balanced match up of Fighter, Acolyte, Rogue and Magician? Or how about all Spellcasters? No Spellcasters? Or three Thieves and their Merchant friend? The choices are nearly limitless.
As you level your Job, learning new Skills, you’ll also be able to unlock special nodes called Talents. These unlock a Class specialty for the character.
Each Job has three Classes available. For instance, a Rogue can specialize in either Thief (attacker type), Swordsman (defender type) or Archer (support type). This allows the Jobs to branch out from their initial Role and aid the group in a variety of different ways.
With a huge world to explore there's plenty to discover in Dungeon Stomper!
